Ever wondered even after applying for hundreds of jobs via Portals like Naukri, Monster, Timesjobs, Shine etc and you normally end up getting no legit response right ?
I will clear the confusion and tell you what actually is happening behind the scenes!
Job Portals have become selfish, they just want to earn money and in the process of earning more $, they have ignored the need of helping people get job and started abusing your resume.
Portals = Naukri, Monster, Timesjobs, Shine.
So you finish your graduation and your decide to find job via famed job portals. Register on the website first, set-up your profile neatly and gradually apply for related jobs or wait for suggested jobs.
The waiting process however is going to be endless right ? You get your first email and you are disappointed since its some BPO/Call centre and next email probably will be from some random consultancy and the process keeps repeating. The moment you realize that its not working, you get a call from famed job portals saying you should try their premium services
which will list your profile directly to employers, getting your resume remade etc.
Not only this famed job portals sell out your resume to some random consultancy, they also try to get those extra $ from you , duping you to buy their premium services “Never buy since its really useless”
Consultancies – the other culprit!
Consultancies pay famed job portals to leak your resume to them “Which is basically illegal, how can they sell out your resume
for $ ?”
Once Consultancy gets your resume, they send you an email regarding job opening “Most of the cases its not related at all and in turn spamming your inbox”, also they forward your resume to Employers ( Eg : Amazon, Google, Facebook, Infosys etc ).
So what is the problem here ? Aren’t they doing you a favour by forwarding your resume to Employers ? Well No!
Let us consider the following scenario:
A = Employers / Company ( Google, Facebook, Infosys, Amazon etc)
B,C,D = Consultancies
E = you.
“E” sends resume to “A”
“B”,”C” and “D” also send resume to “A”
So “A” basically gets your resume more than 4-5 times and will be listed as spam or will have bad impression on Employers and you resume will be termed as “TRYHARD”.
The process involves million of resumes and your chances to get listed in the top 2 pages of Employers’s Inbox = 0.001 % “You gotta be lucky! Na really really lucky”.
Now wonder why most of the time only recommendation works in India ? Thank you “Famed Job Portals” for screwing the system!
